PXE Boot does not
complete | stuck after “Succeed to download NBP file” message
Today when I tried to use PXE boot to install captured
Windows 10 image from Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, some computers get
an IP address from DCHP but did not load Windows PE. These computers have displayed "Succeed to download NBP file" message, and it keep a loop of the same messages when I try to reboot. Computers were
configured to boot using UEFI and when such things happen, I usually switch to use
legacy PXE boot instead of UEFI.
Faulty computers’ motherboards type is Asus P8Q77-M. When I tried
to change boot option to be legacy, I really could not find it in the beginning.
I searched for the motherboard manual and they mention the following:
I get confused because it was not in the same place. Although,
the following picture was in motherboard manual.
It takes me while until I found it in CSM setting:
With legacy boot option machines were able to get images from
Configuration Manager server.
